Wave motion and the calm harbor

- What does a calm harbor look like?
- Where does it have to be situated and how is it to be built?

Water is an element which is in constant movement. Everybody can easily understand what wind and waves can do to unprotected moorings and hulls. It is easy to observe the waves on the surface, but there are wave movements even under the surface. Streams, tide and various sea depths are factors that affect the formation of waves and their distribution.

When a wave approaches the shoal, the wave length decreases while the wave height increases causing the wave to break. A floating harbor solution is a good way to manage the wave motion. Concrete pontoons are suitable both as bridges and as wave attenuators and in addition give a constant freeboard height independent of the water level.

We are specialized in floating harbors and our strength lies in evaluating the location and the affect of the waves, winds and streams. We have to be acquainted with the wave motion in advance.
